How many kids die in car crashes?
Between 2010 and 2014, according to NHTSA, 2,885 children died in motor vehicle accidents in the US – about 11 per week!! The most common cause of death in children under the age of 15 is unintentional injury and the most common form being in a motor vehicle accident.
What the biggest cause?
Surprisingly, 43% of the children were NOT restrained or were improperly restrained. Another 15% were too small or inappropriately sitting in the front seat and 13% were passengers in cars of a drunk driver!
For the safety of your children and babies, buckle up your children as child restraints have proven effective in preventing injury and death. And be sure that after an accident, demand for the baby seat or car seat be replaced by the at-fault party.
