According to a 2016 Smart Growth America study, Tampa Bay (Tampa, St Petersburg and Clearwater) is the 7th most dangerous place to pedestrians, including bicyclists. In a ten-year span from 2005 to 2014, 820 pedestrians died and TampaBay. It is expected that Tampa will make changes to Bayshore Boulevard to help pedestrians and bicyclists soon as well.
